Two poems

A few days ago we had an unforgettable weekend.

We visited musician friends in Devon who share our love of art — walking in the woods, painting, playing music, reading poems, and sharing good food.

Making art alone is a joy; making it together, trading ideas, is another kind of thrill.

Here are two short poems I wrote years ago — the first in 2011 before I met Mr Ma, the second after.

(I)
It happened before, it can happen again
You said I’m your one, I’m your only friend
But when the night falls and the silence grows
I wonder where that promise goes

(II)
In the quiet of this room I find
A hand that steadies heart and mind
Not every storm must leave us cold
Some winters teach us how to hold
